Quiet Preparations.. How Outsourcing Companies Are Preparing for Eid Al-Fitr
As Eid Al-Fitr approaches, outsourcing companies in Egypt are preparing to celebrate the holiday with festive atmospheres, with preparations varying depending on the nature of each company and the sectors they serve.
Although the atmosphere in most companies is relatively calm compared to peak periods during the holy month, preparations include operational plans to ensure service continuity, especially in vital sectors like telecommunications.
This report highlights how companies are preparing for Eid, balancing employee comfort with ensuring quality service for their clients.
Abdel Aziz: Creating a Comfortable Atmosphere and Adjusting Employee Work Hours
Shaimaa Abdel Aziz, CEO of GoChat 247, a company specializing in outsourcing and advanced technology services, stated that the workload during Eid varies depending on the nature of the companies.
However, it is generally quieter compared to the preparations for Ramadan, which experience heavy pressure.
Abdel Aziz explained that outsourcing companies providing services for restaurant clients don’t face the same levels of pressure during Eid as they do in Ramadan.
The nature of client interactions during holidays tends to revolve around family visits or pre-booked travel, reducing work intensity.
The same applies to other sectors such as hotels, except for telecommunications companies, which experience relatively higher pressure during Eid.
She added that the nature of the work differs according to the markets served by the companies. In European countries, Eid days are treated like regular working days, unlike in Arab countries where the festive atmosphere impacts work.
Abdel Aziz emphasized that GoChat 247 strives to create an Eid atmosphere in the workplace by offering traditional sweets and adjusting work hours, allowing employees to celebrate while maintaining efficient operations.
Kato: Call Volume Decreases During the Day and Increases at Night
Ramy Kato, Vice President of Customer Service at Telecom Egypt, explained that the biggest challenge during holiday periods is preparing employee schedules.
He noted that outsourcing companies providing services outside Egypt must continue operations while their employees are seeking time off.
Kato further explained that local companies face difficulty determining the exact day of the holiday, especially since call volumes differ significantly from regular periods.
For example, call volumes decrease during the day but increase at night, a trend tracked from call data on the first day of Eid.
He mentioned that work schedules are determined based on this data from service providers, and extra efforts are made, including overtime pay, to ensure employees don’t miss work and all customer calls are answered.
Al-Ahmar: “T-Tech” Provides Incentives and Organizes Entertainment Activities During Eid
Yamen Al-Ahmar, CEO of T-Tech Egypt outsourcing services, shared the company’s preparations for Eid, explaining that he will be present in the early hours of the first day to celebrate with employees who are working.
He said, “We are proud of the team spirit our employees have, and we always strive to make the workplace more positive and motivating, even during holidays and special occasions.”
Al-Ahmar explained that shifts and working hours will be organized to ensure the company’s services are delivered with quality during Eid, while also creating a flexible schedule that allows employees to enjoy time with their families.
T-Tech will also offer shift swapping options to ensure the best distribution of work during this period.
He added that additional incentives and compensation will be offered to employees working during peak hours and throughout the holiday.
Furthermore, the work environment will be decorated with festive decor to create a positive atmosphere. Special hospitality services, including distributing traditional sweets and beverages to employees working during Eid, will also be provided, along with light entertainment activities and internal competitions to foster joy and appreciation among the teams.
