“Octopus” Signs Cooperation Protocol with Badr University Assiut to Provide Training and Job Opportunities for Students
Octopus Outsourcing Services Company has signed a cooperation protocol with Badr University in Assiut Governorate to offer training opportunities for students and provide jobs for new graduates.
Hadeer Makhlouf, the company’s Training and Development Manager, said that Octopus opened a language learning and development center called “Octopus Academy” in May 2024. The aim is to bridge the language gap many university students and graduates face when entering the job market, in addition to training them to master English and Spanish languages and customer handling skills.
Hadeer added in exclusive statements to the “Ta3heeed” newsletter that the Academy’s programs go beyond mere language proficiency training to building integrated professionals. Participants receive specialized training in language enhancement, interview preparation, computer literacy skills, and customer communication techniques.
She noted that the partnership with universities involves providing the company with graduates and students looking to start their professional careers.
She mentioned that Octopus trains university graduates and students to master the Spanish language over a period ranging from 3 to 4 months, with three training sessions organized weekly, each lasting from 3 to 5 hours.
Hadeer Makhlouf pointed out that some universities require their students to complete a certain number of accredited training hours to fulfill the requirements for obtaining a Bachelor’s degree and graduation.
She added that proficiency training for English is conducted over two months, noting that her company has signed cooperation protocols with the Faculties of Languages and Translation at Badr University in Cairo and Assiut Governorates, and Pharos University in Alexandria.
She revealed that Octopus is also about to sign an agreement with the Faculties of Languages and Translation at Kafr El Sheikh University in the near future.
She mentioned that under the partnership with the Information Technology Industry Development Agency (ITIDA), the company will train and employ 525 students and graduates to master both English and Spanish and plans to continue these efforts after reaching this target number.
She hinted that the company plans to expand its training of students and graduates in other languages through its Academy during the next phase, such as German, Italian, and other European languages.
