ITIDA: Europe is the continent that invests the most in the outsourcing industry in Egypt

Recent data issued by the Information Technology Industry Development Agency (ITIDA) revealed that Europe tops the list of the world’s continents investing the most in the outsourcing services industry in Egypt, with 54 companies, followed by North America with 42 entities, then the Arabian Gulf region with 20 players, 10 Asian companies and 4 African companies.

The 54 European companies are distributed among 20 entities from Germany, Austria and Switzerland, 13 from France and the Benelux countries, 9 from the United Kingdom and 12 others from the rest of the European markets.

Benelux is a political and economic union between the governments of three neighbouring countries in Western Europe: Belgium, the Netherlands and Luxembourg.

In a related context, the Ministry of Communications, represented by ITIDA, aims to increase the number of workers in the outsourcing services export activity in Egypt to 335,000 specialists by the end of fiscal year 2026/2027, compared to 150,000 in late 2024 and 130,000 in 2023.

There are currently 186 local and international companies operating in the Egyptian market, with 206 service export centers, distributed as follows: 86 centers for information technology services (ITS), 49 others for business process outsourcing (BPO), and 71 for engineering research and development.
