Cybersecurity Academy: A Platform for Qualifying Digital Talents for Freelancing

In a step reflecting the Egyptian state’s vision towards building an integrated digital economy based on knowledge and skills, the Cybersecurity Academy for Youth and Young Professionals continues its pioneering role in preparing and qualifying a new generation of Egyptian competencies capable of competing in the local and global job market, especially in the fields of cybersecurity, freelancing, and digital outsourcing.

The Academy was launched through a joint collaboration between the National Telecommunication Institute (NTI) and the Egyptian Computer Emergency Readiness Team (EG-CERT), both affiliated with the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology, and in partnership with MCS Middle East.

The goal is to build the capacities of youth in the field of cybersecurity and equip them with the skills required by the global digital labor market.

Over the past period, the Academy has achieved tangible results, graduating more than 5,016 trainees from 14 Egyptian governorates.

These graduates received specialized practical training programs that qualify them to work in a number of vital digital jobs, including:

Remote monitoring of security systems.

Analyzing cyberattacks and preparing professional technical reports.

Providing technical support for Security Operations Centers (SOCs) and incident response teams.

The program is part of the state’s strategy to expand the base of workers in the field of technical outsourcing.

It provides graduates with real opportunities for online freelancing or joining local and global companies operating in cross-border digital services.

This step directly contributes to boosting Egypt’s IT services exports and enhancing its competitiveness in attracting international outsourcing projects.

The Academy has also set an ambitious plan for the next phase, which includes training 10,000 young men and women annually by 2026, with geographic expansion in implementing training programs to cover all governorates of the Republic, thus ensuring equity in providing digital opportunities for youth in various regions.

The Academy pays special attention to integrating modern technology into training by simulating real work environments in cybersecurity centers and engaging trainees in practical projects that contribute to honing their skills and enhancing their readiness for the actual job market.

Thus, the Cybersecurity Academy represents a pioneering Egyptian model for investing in digital human capital and is a crucial pillar for supporting the “Digital Egypt” vision.
