Khaled Al-Amrawi: An Alexandrian Reaching Global Success Leading Octopus Outsourcing

Dr. Khaled Al-Amrawi is the founder and CEO of Octopus Outsourcing, a company established in 2020 that provides cross-border outsourcing (offshoring) services.

The company operates from Alexandria, Egypt, with over 1,900 seats, offering multilingual services in Arabic, English, Italian, Spanish, and French.

Born in Alexandria in 1968, Al-Amrawi earned bachelor’s and master’s degrees in electrical and computer engineering from Alexandria University in 1991 and 1994, respectively.

He later obtained a Ph.D. in the same field from Old Dominion University in Virginia, USA, as well as an Executive MBA from the University of Oregon in 2004.

A Journey of Leadership and Innovation

Before founding Octopus Outsourcing, Al-Amrawi held several key positions, including Chairman and Board Member of Bright Skies for IT Solutions and Regional Director at Intel for Enterprise Solutions and Services in the Middle East.

He joined Intel in 1999 as a Senior Process Engineer at the Portland Technology Development Group, where he contributed to advancing printing operations for Intel’s cutting-edge manufacturing technologies.

He also played a crucial role in launching Intel’s first 300mm wafer fabrication facility in Oregon.

Before returning to Egypt in 2005, Al-Amrawi served as Marketing Director in Intel’s Business Client Group, where he was responsible for the global launch of Intel’s desktop platforms, including microprocessors.
