Jacob Trades His Uniform to Build Experion’s Future
Before leading Experion on its global journey, Binu Jacob spent a part of his career as an officer in the Indian Air Force, where he was responsible for maintaining defense systems, including missiles and radars.
Jacob holds a Bachelor’s degree in Electronics and Instrumentation Engineering and a Master’s degree in Management and Systems from IIT Delhi (1995–1997).
Building a Company from the Ground Up
Jacob joined Experion in October 2008.
Under his leadership, the company grew from a small team to an organization with approximately 1,500 employees serving over 500 clients in 36 countries.
The company operates from three technology centers in India: Thiruvananthapuram, Kochi, and Bengaluru, in addition to global offices in Europe, Australia, and North America.
Global Expansion and Growing Ambitions
In May 2023, Jacob announced plans to invest $5.6 million over 12 months for international expansion, with a focus on the markets in Japan and the Nordic countries, and to hire around 600 new graduates from Kerala.
In November 2024, he revealed that Experion aims to double its revenue and workforce to 3,000 employees by 2027, capitalizing on the increasing corporate demand for digital transformation.
Experion achieved a 50% growth in profits during the year and is projecting an annual revenue growth of 30% over the next two years.
The company also secured an investment from Indium, backed by EQT, to enhance its capabilities in data and artificial intelligence.
A Man of Many Talents
Beyond the world of technology, Jacob is a multi-talented artist. He is trained in classical singing, is skilled in pencil drawing, and enjoys traveling to explore remote places.
He even connected his singing hobby with his business career when his performance of South Indian music at an event in Germany led to the formation of a new business relationship.
Furthermore, Jacob aspires to create an eco-village that embodies his personal vision for sustainability, agriculture, and simple community living.
