The outsourcing industry in Egypt is witnessing an unprecedented expansion into the governorates (provinces). Many companies, both global and local, have begun to widen their presence across Egyptian cities in search of additional advantages in human talent and infrastructure.
Why the Governorates?
The movement of companies towards the governorates stems from several reasons, most notably the availability of talent and the job stability that distinguishes employees in the provinces from those located in the capital.
Among the most prominent companies with branches outside Cairo are Concentrix, Teleperformance, Intelcia, Ezzone, Octopus, and Foundever.
Government Support and Economic Impact
The government is adopting a package of incentives to support global companies operating in the fields of outsourcing and IT services.
This includes support for training and employment, and the reimbursement of export burdens to encourage companies to expand and open new markets from within Egypt.
Government efforts have resulted in the addition of about 60,000 new specialists to the outsourcing labor market by the end of 2024.
Furthermore, the volume of Egyptian digital exports doubled during the period from 2022 to 2024, which strengthens Egypt’s position as a main center for providing global business services.
The Communications and Information Technology sector continues to achieve annual growth rates ranging between 14% and 16%, which has increased its contribution to the Gross Domestic Product (GDP) from 3.2% in 2018 to nearly 6% in 2025.
