Ramy Kato, former President of Vodafone International Services in Egypt, has more than 28 years of experience in the communications sector, financial services, digital payments, and e-commerce, as he held many leadership positions in major companies in the Europe, Middle East, and Africa region.
kato obtained a baccalaureate degree from the French School in Germany in June 1991, then a bachelor’s degree in economics from the American University in Cairo in 1995, in addition to a master’s degree in business administration from France in 2007.
Kato began his career in April 1995 when he served as sales manager for Bayer AG in Egypt until January 1996. He then moved to the position of control unit manager at ExxonMobil in Egypt during the period from January 1996 to June 2000.
He also served as project manager at Vodafone. Egypt during the period from July 2000 to September 2001.
During the period from October 2001 to December 2008, Kato moved between more than one company, including General Manager of MobiServ Telecommunications Network Solutions in Pakistan, in addition to various positions in Orascom Telecom.
Kato also held the position of Customer Service Manager at Sabafon Company in the Yemeni capital, Sana’a, during the period from December 2008 to November 2009. He then moved to Ring Distribution Company to assume its executive presidency during the period from November 2009 to April 2012, and then as an independent consultant for the Development Company for a year that began. In April 2011 until April 2012.
Ramy joined Exceed as Executive Vice President of Customer Service in May 2012 and continued in his position until August 2014, after which he became CEO of the company during the period from September 2014 to September 2016.
In October 2016, Kato moved to work at Careem, a company that requests smart transportation services via mobile, in the position of Vice President of Customer Service for the Emirati company. He continued in his position until September 2017, then he served as General Manager of the company in Egypt during the period from March 2017 to October 2018.
From October 2018 to February 2020, Ramy became General Manager of Global Finance in Egypt, and in May 2020 he moved to work for Vodafone International Services VOIS in Egypt until November 2023.
