Egypt and Serbia have had relations spanning more than 116 years, during which the two countries witnessed mutual economic cooperation in all fields and at all levels.
It seems that the coming months will witness greater cooperation in the fields of communications and technology, as Dr. Amr Talaat, Minister of Communications and Information Technology, left Cairo heading to the Serbian capital, Belgrade, on a 3-day visit; during which he held a number of meetings with ministers and government officials, and a number of officials from universities, research and development centers, and Serbian companies to discuss enhancing cooperation and exchanging expertise between Egypt and Serbia in the fields of communications and information technology and attracting investments.
This visit comes in response to an invitation extended to Dr. Amr Talaat by the Serbian Minister of Information and Communications and the Minister of Scientific Research to get to know the Serbian communications and information technology sector and the efforts made in the field of technological innovation and entrepreneurship.
This visit also comes to push forward efforts to activate the memorandum of understanding signed between the two countries during the visit of the Serbian President to Egypt last July, which aims to enhance joint cooperation between the two countries, especially in the fields of digital transformation, outsourcing, and exchange of expertise in the field of building technological cities, in addition to enhancing investment opportunities between the two countries by attracting Serbian companies working in the field of communications and information technology to invest in Egypt.
