Egyptian Center for Economic Studies: Experienced Workers Most in Demand for White-Collar Jobs in Egypt

A study prepared by the Egyptian Center for Economic Studies (ECES) revealed that experienced professionals are the most in-demand for white-collar jobs in Egypt during the third quarter of 2025.

According to the report, a copy of which was obtained by the “Outsourcing” bulletin, a bachelor’s degree remains a fundamental requirement for nearly 98% of white-collar positions.

White-collar jobs include sectors such as marketing, advertising, information technology, real estate, customer service, and software development.

The report revealed that several key professions are now being threatened by Artificial Intelligence technology, including journalism and media, technical support services, and tourism.

It noted that 51% of technical support services are automatable, particularly routine tasks such as call center operations.

The study divided the governorates of the Republic into six regions: the Capital (comprising Cairo and Giza), Alexandria and Canal Cities (including Port Said, Ismailia, and Suez), in addition to the Upper Egypt cities (Beni Suef, Fayoum, Minya, Assiut, Sohag, Qena, Aswan, and Luxor), and the Delta (such as Damietta, Dakahlia, Sharqia, Qalyubia, Kafr El Sheikh, Gharbia, Monufia, and Beheira).

Meanwhile, the Border Cities included the Red Sea, New Valley, Matrouh, and North and South Sinai.

The report revealed a noticeable decline in the number of white-collar jobs versus a slight increase in blue-collar professions in the third quarter of 2025.

However, job demand remains concentrated in the Capital region, with a noticeable increase in blue-collar jobs in the Lower Egypt region (Delta).

The report indicated that 6.7% of white-collar jobs during the third quarter of the current year were designated for males versus 3.2% for females, while 90.1% did not specify a particular gender.

Half of the jobs in the Information Technology sector are concentrated in customer service and support, information technology, and software development.
