Nokia Selects Cairo as a Regional Technical Support Center to Manage its Operations

Nokia has chosen Cairo as its new regional center for technical support and operations management for the Middle East and Africa region.

This move reflects the company’s expansion in the Egyptian market and reinforces Egypt’s role as a regional hub for technological services and telecommunications.

The new center aims to provide managed operation services and direct technical support to telecommunications companies and operators in the region, focusing on three main sectors: global operations management, network infrastructure support, and mobile wireless networks and 5G technologies.

This step follows the ongoing collaboration between Nokia and the Egyptian government, which began in July 2024 with the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with ITIDA and Telecom Egypt to establish a Center of Excellence for IP networks.

This was followed by the company’s announcement in April 2026 to upgrade its investments and launch the integrated regional operational center in Cairo.

Nokia is among the world’s leading companies in the telecommunications and technology sector.

Founded in 1865 in Finland, the company currently employs approximately 78,000 people globally, with operations and offices spanning more than 130 countries.

The company continues to expand its presence in digital infrastructure, 5G networks, and Artificial Intelligence, particularly following its strategic partnership with NVIDIA to develop AI-driven networks and the next generation of communication technologies.

According to company data, Nokia recorded annual net sales estimated at 19.8 billion euros, while its annual spending on research and development (R&D) reaches about 4.9 billion euros. Its cumulative investment in innovation and scientific research has exceeded 160 billion euros since the year 2000.

Furthermore, the company received orders worth 2.4 billion euros within a single year from cloud computing and AI technology clients, signaling the growing expansion of digital infrastructure services worldwide.
