Communications Minister to “Ta3heed”: We Adopt an Integrated Vision to Expand the Outsourcing Industry, Focused on Attracting New Investments
Eng. Raafat Hindy, Minister of Communications and Information Technology, stated in exclusive remarks to the “Ta3heed” newsletter that the outsourcing industry represents one of the primary drivers of Egypt’s digital economic growth.
He emphasized that the Ministry places this sector at the forefront of its priorities, within the framework of state efforts to boost digital exports and solidify Egypt’s position as a global hub for cross-border IT services.
The Minister explained that the Ministry is adopting an integrated vision to expand the base of the outsourcing industry.
This vision is centered on attracting new investments alongside supporting the expansions of global companies already operating in the Egyptian market.
Such efforts contribute to providing high-quality job opportunities for youth and increasing the sector’s contribution to the Gross Domestic Product (GDP).
He pointed out that Egypt possesses strong competitive advantages that place it in an advanced position on the global outsourcing map.
Foremost among these is the availability of qualified human talent and advanced digital infrastructure, as well as a geographic location that allows for the efficient delivery of services to various markets.
Furthermore, the Minister added that the Ministry continues to implement specialized programs for digital skills development.
These programs aim to qualify young cadres to work across various fields of the ICT and outsourcing sectors.
This includes everything from Business Process Outsourcing (BPO) and digital technology services to high-value embedded systems, engineering Research and Development (R&D), and the development of Artificial Intelligence (AI) applications.
He noted that the upcoming phase will see a greater focus on increasing digital exports, particularly high-value advanced technological services.
This will be achieved by enhancing the competitiveness of local companies, integrating them into global value chains, and providing investment incentives while fostering an attractive business environment supported by competitive operational facilities.
