“Orinola” .. From a London stockbroker to leading “Hugo” in the jungles of Africa

Orinola Gbadebo-Smith or as he is called “Ore” is primarily an entrepreneur and currently the CEO of Hugo, an African outsourcing company.

Prior to founding Hugo, Ori’s career spanned mergers and acquisitions in New York, as well as extensive experience in private equity investing in London, commodities trading in Singapore, and energy infrastructure development as chief economist and investment advisor for a Nigerian LNG project.

Ore holds a BA in Economics from Dartmouth College and an MBA from Harvard Business School. He currently resides between Lagos, Nigeria and Palo Alto, California with his wife and two children, and dreams of one day writing a novel about his life’s journey.

Hugo Outsourcing builds and manages global customer experience, digital operations and data annotation teams on behalf of global technology, retail, media and AI companies.

Hugo’s mission is simple, says Ori: to develop its solutions and make Africa a major outsourcing hub for the world.

Hugo currently employs 3,600 full-time employees, spread across Kenya, Nigeria, Senegal, Cape Verde and South Africa, and remains dedicated to delivering world-class experiences to its customers.
