The daylight saving time mechanism is based on moving the clock forward by 60 minutes, with the aim of rationalizing energy and saving its operation in light of the economic conditions and changes the world is witnessing.
During the current year, it was implemented again and the clock was changed in Egypt to 2024, after President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi issued Law No. 24 of 2023 regarding the daylight saving time determination, which stipulated: “From the last Friday of the month of April until the end of the last Thursday of the month.” Every October of each calendar year, the legal hour in the Arab Republic of Egypt is the hour according to the prevailing time, set forward by sixty minutes.”
