Andy Lee, founder of the outsourcing company Alorica, was born in Taiwan in 1980 and moved to America when he was four years old.
Andy’s family, consisting of three sisters and one brother, settled in Los Angeles, California, and while his father worked as an engineer, his mother was a housewife.
Lee received his basic education at home, then went to high school to obtain a degree and then entered university.
Andy joined the University of California in 1989 and obtained a bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering and then a master’s degree in the same field from Stanford University.
The founder of Alorica started his career shortly after graduating from university. He lived a life so difficult that he never got any rest at all and started as an employee in a clothing store.
Taiwanese-American entrepreneur Andy Lee co-founded software solutions company Comverse Technology.
He also served as Vice President of Engineering at Verint Systems. Lee received the Ernst & Young Innovation Award in the Services category for Orange County and the Greater Los Angeles Area.
Lee has also been recognized as one of the “100 Most Influential People in Orange County” by the OC Foundation, as well as a 2010 Ernst & Young Entrepreneur of the Year Award in the Financial and Business Services category.
Andy Lee’s fortune reached approximately $50 million by the end of 2022.
Founded in 1999, Alorica is one of the largest business process outsourcing (BPO) service providers in the world.
Alorica has received numerous awards and accolades, including the Deloitte Technology Fast 50 Award, and has also been named to Software magazine’s annual list of the 500 largest software and service vendors, in addition to Customer Relationship Management (CRM) Excellence Awards from Customer Interaction Solutions magazine.
Males account for 70% of Alorica’s executive management, compared to 30% for females. Also, 51% of the team are white, 19% are of Spanish or Latin origins, and 8% are black or African-American.
