Omar Anglin, the founder and CEO of Anglin Global Affiliates, a company specializing in Business Process Outsourcing (BPO) and providing call center solutions for small and medium-sized enterprises since September 2016, has an inspiring journey.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Anglin attended Northern Caribbean University, where he earned a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration with a specialization in Accounting.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

He is also recognized as a real estate expert and a strategic thinker with extensive experience in financial planning and investment strategy development.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

An Unconventional Start to His Career<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

His very first job interview after graduation was for a kitchen worker position at the Wexford Hotel in Montego Bay, Jamaica.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

During the interview, he noticed the hotel manager struggling with a computer and volunteered to help fix it.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

He wasn’t hired for the kitchen; instead, he was brought on as a cost controller in the accounting department.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

From there, he steadily rose through the ranks, becoming a cost controller, then a purchasing manager, and finally the hotel’s accountant.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Forging His Own Path<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

After his time at Wexford, Anglin ventured into freelancing, offering accounting services to various small businesses in Montego Bay while simultaneously teaching himself computer programming.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

His interest in the call center sector was sparked by the experiences of friends who worked as contact agents, trainers, and supervisors in call centers in Montego Bay, coupled with his strong desire to establish his own venture.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

To gain practical experience in the field, Anglin joined Xerox, a leading BPO company, in 2012. There, he worked in accounting, process improvement, and system building.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

He soon resigned to establish his first company, ACTEC Outsourcing.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Resilience and Reinvention<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

After recovering from the painful collapse of his first startup in 2014, at just 24 years old, the entrepreneurial Omar Anglin successfully carved out a unique position for himself.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

He began generating profits by preparing BPO spaces for lease, in addition to operational spaces under contracts for local and international operators entering Jamaica’s outsourcing market, and connecting investors with offshore outsourcing clients abroad.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

He strived hard to maintain the continuity of ACTEC Outsourcing Solutions, which had only been established for a few months, ensuring that employees continued working and were paid from his own funds, before deciding to resign after finding himself trapped in a $5 million predicament.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Anglin is a true role model for entrepreneurs. He made headlines when he transformed his failure into a successful venture that currently employs over 700 people across the island.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

His dedication to the BPO sector has always been exceptional; he is a member of the BPIAJ and the Montego Bay Chamber of Commerce, and a recipient of the 2017 MBCC Young Entrepreneur Award.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
