the impact of holidays on the outsourcing services sector, a prominent and growing area of the Egyptian economy.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size\">While long holidays provide psychological and social comfort for employees and help reduce job burnout, a number of industry experts and outsourcing company managers believe that the frequency of holidays poses a challenge to maintaining operational continuity and smooth communication with international clients.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size\">While some emphasize that regular rest enhances employee efficiency and improves performance quality, others warn of negative repercussions such as a decrease in actual working hours, delays in recruitment procedures, and increased financial burdens on companies, especially those committed to providing round-the-clock services.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading has-large-font-size\"><strong>Imran: A Double-Edged Sword&#8230; Flexible Rostering and Hybrid Work Should Be Activated<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size\">Yasser Imran, Egypt Country Manager at Alorica, stated that the length of holidays in Egypt can have multiple effects on the outsourcing services industry, both positive and negative.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size\">He explained that the most prominent positive impact is attracting foreign investment, as longer holiday periods may increase Egypt&#8217;s attractiveness as an outsourcing destination, especially for European or Asian companies looking for a flexible work environment with a work-life balance.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size\">Imran added that some companies may prefer to deal with employees who enjoy sufficient leave, which reduces burnout rates and increases long-term productivity.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size\">He believes that the length of holidays in Egypt may also contribute to increased productivity and improved service quality, as employees get sufficient rest periods that make them more productive and creative upon returning to work.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size\">It also helps reduce stress and increase job loyalty.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size\">He continued, &#8220;As long as Egypt surpasses other countries like Germany and Japan in the number of annual holidays, multinational companies may benefit from this in compensating for shortages within their own countries.&#8221;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size\">Imran listed the negative impacts of holidays on the outsourcing services industry as a decrease in actual working hours, explaining that with about 139 days of leave annually, including weekends and official holidays, working hours may be lower compared to other countries, which could affect the volume of production.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size\">He pointed out that some outsourcing companies also rely on continuous operation around the clock, seven days a week, and therefore long holidays may hinder this.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size\">They may also pose a challenge in coordinating with international clients, especially since they may not align with American or European companies, resulting in a communication gap and delays in delivery.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size\">He believes that some businesses, such as customer service (call centers) or technical support, require continuous coverage, and frequent holidays may complicate the process.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size\">He noted that outsourcing companies may have to compensate for additional leave days (such as marriage or sick leave) by hiring additional employees, which increases operating expenses, especially since some contracts with foreign clients may require a commitment to a certain number of working days, creating pressure on Egyptian companies.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size\">To solve this problem, the General Manager of Alorica Egypt suggested activating a flexible roster system by dividing into overlapping work teams to cover official and weekly holidays, in addition to using a hybrid work model (partly remote) to ensure continuity, and using artificial intelligence and robotics in some routine tasks to compensate for the absence of employees during holidays.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size\">He also called for the application of project management systems such as Asana or Trello to follow up on tasks asynchronously, in addition to specifying clear clauses in contracts with clients regarding Egyptian holiday days and how to compensate for them, while offering flexible work options as an alternative to long holidays.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size\">He concluded by saying, &#8220;Companies that can manage holidays intelligently by implementing roster systems, automation, and flexible contracts can turn this challenge into a competitive advantage in the global outsourcing services industry market.&#8221;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading has-large-font-size\"><strong>Hamza: Late Announcement of Official Holidays Makes It Difficult to Distribute Workload<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size\">Dr. Karim Hamza, an expert in the outsourcing services industry in Egypt, said that the IT outsourcing sector is a fundamental pillar of the Egyptian economy, given its vital role in attracting foreign investment and providing abundant job opportunities for young people.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size\">Hamza believes that human resources management and work planning within this sector face continuous challenges, the most prominent of which is the lack of clarity regarding seasonal holiday dates, their inconsistency, and the delay in their official announcement, which directly affects the stability of operations for global companies that rely on Egyptian talent.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size\">He commented, &#8220;The issue is not the number of seasonal holidays as much as the lack of prior planning and organizational clarity,&#8221; stressing that the late announcement of official holidays leads to significant difficulty in distributing workload, which disrupts companies and burdens their employees.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size\">Hamza cited the experience of global companies that plan their projects annually, but face numerous obstacles due to this delay and lack of clarity, which reduces planning efficiency and negatively reflects on Egypt&#8217;s competitive image in the global market.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size\">He added that unifying the number of annual holidays according to different employee categories at the beginning of each year, while allowing flexibility in granting leave according to workload, would guarantee employees&#8217; financial and in-kind rights, as well as provide a high ability to plan and take advantage of periods of low global pressure, especially during long holiday seasons abroad in December, January, April, and August.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size\">He pointed out that these periods in particular are golden opportunities to increase productivity and exploit the downtime of global markets to enhance Egypt&#8217;s position in providing continuous and high-quality services.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size\">He stressed the importance of policymakers paying special attention to organizing and announcing holiday dates clearly and early, while unifying them and providing the necessary administrative flexibility, to achieve greater efficiency in human resource planning, ensure the continuity of services, and enhance Egypt&#8217;s global competitiveness in the IT outsourcing sector.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading has-large-font-size\"><strong>Mokbel: Companies Bear a Third of the Year in Employee Overtime Under the Law<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size\">Mohamed Mokbel, Managing Director of Tell Talk Outsourcing Services, confirmed that a third of the year in Egypt is considered holidays, explaining that a single day off costs the national economy, not just the industry, significant amounts.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size\">Mokbel said that the long rest periods in Egypt hinder outsourcing companies from granting their employees all the scheduled holidays, especially since they have clients who need continuous technical support around the clock, seven days a week.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size\">He believes that certain sectors within the state, such as customs, do not require long holidays, stressing the importance of the government drafting new legislation regulating the holiday schedule in Egypt, especially since companies now bear double the employee&#8217;s salary if they work on a day off under the law, as they receive overtime.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size\">He affirmed that companies thus bear additional burdens for a third of the year due to holidays, explaining that the government has already enacted a law to protect employee rights without considering other parties.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading has-large-font-size\"><strong>Girgis: Achieving Balance Between Professional and Family Life<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size\">For his part, John Girgis, CEO of Aura Outsourcing Services, pointed out the positive impact of holidays in achieving a balance between professional and family life, which contributes to reducing work pressure.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size\">Conversely, he explained that the outsourcing industry is directly affected by the frequency of holidays, but companies temporarily distribute tasks among their remaining employees during holidays to maintain work continuity at the same rates and efficiency.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size\">He noted that the administrative procedures for hiring new employees are affected by the length of holidays, which affects scheduling interviews and completing the required paperwork.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size\">Girgis concluded by
