Amid Predictions of Prime Minister’s Attendance… Outsourcing Companies Reveal Details of the Industry’s First Global Summit

“Ta3heed” newsletter has learned from informed sources within outsourcing companies in Egypt that the Ministry of Communications, represented by the Information Technology Industry Development Agency (ITIDA), is preparing to organize the industry’s first Global Summit.
The event is scheduled to take place at the Marriott Mena House hotel in the Pyramids area of Giza Governorate on November 8 and 9 of this month.
Sources told “Ta3heed” that it is likely that Dr. Mostafa Madbouly, the Prime Minister, will attend the summit activities, along with Dr. Amr Talaat, the Minister of Communications, and Eng. Ahmed Elzaher, the CEO of ITIDA, with the participation of a group of representatives and heads of local and international outsourcing service companies.
The sources clarified that the Chief Operating Officer of global company Sutherland, a representative from the American company VXI, and John Abu representing TTEC Global are expected to attend.
John Abu is scheduled to give a presentation on how Cairo plays a strategic role in the company’s operations.
The sources indicated that the two-day summit will address the new incentives that the government will provide to local and international outsourcing companies to boost the volume of their investments in the Egyptian market and expand existing call centers or establish new ones. Furthermore, it will discuss all related industry matters, including salary policies and insurance for workers, among others.
According to previous statements by Minister of Communications Dr. Amr Talaat, the number of companies operating in the outsourcing services activity in Egypt has risen from 64-65 companies in 2021 to more than 180 companies in 2024, an increase of 180% over three years.
In February 2022, the government launched the National Outsourcing Industry Strategy for Egypt, which included four main pillars to transform Egypt into a leading global destination for outsourcing services: IT Services, Business Process Outsourcing (BPO), Knowledge Services, and Engineering Research and Development Services (ER&D).
The strategy also included incentives for investors and programs to polish youth skills, aiming to triple digital export revenues by 2026 and create 215,000 new job opportunities in the sector.
